MarieBrooksHi, there! I’m Marie Brooks and as of February 2013, I’m your new Friends of Chelsea District Library president. I’m very excited to be actively involved with the library and the Friends once again, after a bit of ‘down time’ since leaving my volunteer coordinator position with CDL in 2007. I've been a library supporter and a Friend since moving to Chelsea, way back in 1995 and it almost feels like coming home to work with all of these fine folks again.

My goal for the Friends in 2013 is really more of the same good work they've been doing all along – steady and increasingly necessary financial support of the library’s excellent programs through fundraising and community advocacy. My hope is to increase public awareness of our Friends group as well and by doing so, increase our ranks. To do this, I’m putting in place a great team of committee chairs and volunteers to help plan and execute a variety of (very fun!) events and ideas. Keep your eyes peeled for details…. I look forward to the year and I hope you’ll join us on the journey!
